Telescopic cranes – extending beyond the girder

If specific material handling operations lies just beyond the reach of an ordinary TAWI girder crane system, where no overhead structure exists, a telescopic arm could fill in that gap. As an additional feature to the TAWI girder crane systems, an extended arm in the form of a telescopic crane can be added.

Maybe, there is occasional material handling to be achieved through a doorway out onto a loading bay, outside the girder crane system. Maybe the girder crane system is combined with pallet racks or there are occasional containers to be handled in your operations. A telescopic arm, attached to the girder of the specified crane system are able to reach into such cramped, sometimes mobile spaces.

Further, a telescopic design provides limitless opportunities to bridge systems that otherwise would not have been able to integrate with each other. With the telescopic crane system, the user is able to reach beyond the workstation and pass handled material from one system to the next.

The telescopic crane system combines the overhead girder systems with a telescoping girder installed under the rails. Equipped with a fixed suspension and trolleys with extra wheels in order to balance when the girder is telescoped, the system can reach up to 3 m beyond the ordinary boundary. The system also has a locking feature that guides the telescoping arm along the girder, thus moving the tool along the passage without colliding with the surrounding equipment.
